(Press Release; Pan American Baseball Confederation) – The Nicaraguan national team officially announced its roster for the Copa América, which begins next week in Panama.
Nicaragua will compete in Group A, which will be played in Panama City, against the national teams of Curaçao, Cuba, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Venezuela.
The manager will be Sandor Guido, assisted by Julio Sánchez as general manager, Lenin Picota as pitching coach, Cairo Murillo for the bullpen, and Jorge Avellán and Aníbal Vega completing the coaching staff. The team consists of pitchers Ángel Obando, Bryan Torres, Fidencio Flores, Juan Ramírez, Kenword Burton, Osman Gutiérrez, Rodney Theophile, Stanling Orozco, Carlos Teller, Danilo Bermúdez, Dilmer Mejía, Elías Gutiérrez, Leonardo Crawford and Pedro Torres.
The catchers will be Melvin Novoa, Ronald Rivera, and Rodolfo Bone, while the infielders are Benjamín Alegría, Cheslor Cuthbert, Elian Rayo, Elian Miranda, Emanuel Trujillo, and José Orozco.
The outfielders Bismarck Rivera, Cristhian Sandoval, Juan Diego Montes, and Omar Mendoza complete the team.
