The Mets lost, the Braves won, and the Diamondbacks lost. The National League wild card race is getting tight as just one game separates the Diamondbacks from the Mets and Braves with about two weeks left to play.

Boston Red Sox 7, New York Yankees 1

The Red Sox got to Gerrit Cole in a big way. They tagged him with seven earned runs en route to a 7-1 victory to set up a chance to earn a series split on Sunday afternoon.

Milwaukee Brewers 15, Arizona Diamondbacks 8

The Brewers won by a touchdown in the desert. Garrett Mitchell got on base five times, including a two-run home run to the opposite field. The Brewers offense had the worst batting average in September going into the game but racked up 16 hits to break out of their slump.

Houston Astros 5, Los Angeles Angels 3

Yordan Alvarez hit his 34th home run of the season as the Astros secured the series win against the Angels. The Astros picked up seven hits on starter Tyler Anderson, who only went five innings.

Colorado Rockies 6, Chicago Cubs 5

The Cubs gave up a late lead to the Rockies for the second straight night. Sam Hilliard hit a two-run home run to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. Brenton Doyle delivered the walk-off single in the 11th, all but ending the Cubs postseason hopes.

Cincinnati Reds 11,  Minnesota Twins 1

After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, the Reds offense showed up in the fourth inning in a big way. They scored nine runs off of Simeon Woods Richardson and Louie Vardland.

Chicago White Sox 7, Oakland Athletics 6

The A’s scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to tie the game up, looking to add another disaster on the 2024 White Sox resume. However, Andrew Benintendi delivered a walk-off home run for the Sox.

Atlanta Braves 10, Los Angeles Dodgers 1

The Braves picked up a crucial win to tie the Mets in the wild-card race. Atlanta secured the series win against the Dodgers after another masterful performance by Chris Sale.

Cleveland Guardians 6, Tampa Bay Rays 1

José Ramirez has an outside chance at a 40-40 season. He blasted his 35th home run of the year and has 39 stolen bases to go along with it.

Toronto Blue Jays 7, St. Louis Cardinals 2

The Cardinals offense could only muster three hits against the Blue Jays. José Berrios pitched seven innings, allowing just one earned run.

Washington Nationals 4, Miami Marlins 1

For the second straight night, the Nationals beat the Marlins 4-1. Joey Gallo hit his seventh home run of the season. The Nationals hit three solo home runs to secure the series win.

Philadelphia Phillies 6, New York Mets 4

The Mets debuted Luisangel Acuña in a critical game for the NL Wild Card race. He went 2-4 at the plate, but the Phillies offense did just enough to beat the Mets in game two of the series. Bryce Harper picked up three RBIs in the contest.

Kansas City Royals 5, Pittsburgh Pirates 1

Bobby Witt Jr. continued his great season with his 31st home run and 100th RBI in the first inning. The Royals cruised to a win and secured the series win.

Baltimore Orioles 4, Detroit Tigers 2

Corbin Burnes has been everything the Orioles had hoped for when they traded for him. He delivered seven scoreless innings with seven strikeouts en route to his 14th win.

Seattle Mariners 5, Texas Rangers 4

One night after Julio Rodriguez delivered a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning, the Mariners again broke the Rangers’ hearts. Randy Arozarena delivered a walk-off single in the ninth inning.

San Diego Padres 8, San Francisco Giants 0

The Padres hold the top wild-card spot in the National League. They shut out the Giants for the second consecutive night behind an eight-strikeout game from Joe Musgrove.
