Thanks to the generous support of The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation Sports Matter Program, Norriton Little League in Norristown, Pennsylvania, has been awarded a $25,000 Sports Matter grant to support its operations and expand access for children in the community. The award was presented as part of the #SportsMatterMonday celebration during the Little League Baseball® World Series, Presented by T-Mobile.

“Through this financial support, The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation is creating more opportunity to create accessibility for children to participate in the Little League experience, while furthering our commitment to communities around the world,” said Liz DiLullo Brown, Little League® Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Business Relationship Officer. “We are grateful for our foundation’s support of Norriton Little League’s operations and mission to provide the best overall experience for kids playing baseball and softball in their community.”

First chartered in 1952, Norriton Little League has served as a cornerstone for youth development in the Norristown area, teaching life lessons that extend far beyond the baseball and softball fields. From teamwork and sportsmanship to confidence and resilience, the league offers children a safe and supportive environment to grow as athletes and individuals.

The 2022 merger of East Norriton LL and West Norriton LL further strengthened the league, uniting the community under one thriving organization committed to inclusivity and character development.

“What truly sets Norriton Little League apart is its incredible ability to bring the community together,” said Joe Ricci, President of Norriton Little League. “To be recognized by Little League International at its very roots underscores the impact of our league’s work and dedication to our volunteers, coaches, and athletes. We look forward to not only receiving this honor but also to deepening our connection to the rich history and spirit of Little League.”

The Norriton grant follows a $25,000 award earlier this month to Twin City Little League at the Little League Softball® World Series, Presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods, bringing the total to $50,000 in Urban Initiative grants distributed this summer.

Since 2017, when DICK’S Sporting Goods entered into a five-year $500,000 commitment as the Official Sporting Goods Retailer of Little League, The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation has provided vital funding and program support for hundreds of leagues, reinforcing its decade-long mission of ensuring that youth sports remain accessible and impactful for all children.
