On Saturday, April 11, the North Carolina Tar Heels defeated the Clemson Tigers 6-4 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The game was decided in 14 innings after North Carolina tied the game with a run in the eighth and ninth innings.
One of the highlight performances in college baseball that Saturday came from North Carolina reliever Caden Glauber.
In six innings of relief, he allowed no runs while striking out six Clemson hitters. Glauber continuously kept the Tigers’ lineup from doing major damage in extra innings so North Carolina could pick up the major win on the road.
Glauber in 2026 with the Tar Heels
The right-hander is in his freshman season with the Tar Heels. In 42 innings of work, he has a 1.71 ERA with 51 strikeouts. Over that same stretch, he has allowed an opposing batting average of .179.
Glauber has picked up three saves this season for North Carolina. Two of those saves came against Notre Dame on March 28 and 29. The other save came on March 13 against California.
Glauber has become a big-time reliever within a great North Carolina pitching staff. Being a freshman in 2026, his future looks bright in Chapel Hill.
