On Monday, D1 Baseball’s Kendall Rogers reported that Northeastern head coach Mike Glavine has received a five-year extension.

The head coach is coming off his 11th season with the Northeastern program, and Glavine’s extension comes after a great season for the Huskies. The team went 49-11 overall and were an astonishing 25-2 in conference play.

Northeastern won the CAA regular season and conference tournament titles in 2025. They also made the NCAA Tournament as the second seed in the Tallahassee regional. This is the third NCAA tournament appearance for the Huskies this decade.

It is the fourth-overall NCAA Tournament for the Huskies in the Glavine era and the 11th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament in the program’s history.

Following the Huskies’ big season, Glavine received the 2025 CAA Coach of the Year award. It is the first time in his career that he has won that award.

He was also named the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Northeast Regional Coach of the Year for the third straight season. This is the fourth time overall he has won that award in his head coaching career.

Glavine began his head coaching stint at Northeastern in 2015. He had been an assistant coach for the school dating back to 2007 and took over the head coaching job for his predecessor, Niel McPhee.

In 11 years as the head coach at Northeastern, he has put together a career overall record of 357-220-1 and a career conference record of 164-84.
