Oklahoma State Cowboys Off To Worst Start So Far Under Head Coach Josh Holliday

The Oklahoma State Cowboys lost to the Missouri State Bears 10-8 on Tuesday as they fell to 12-14 overall on the season. This officially makes it the worst in head coach Josh Holliday’s tenure in Stillwater.

This is not the only mid-week game that Oklahoma State has let slip away. They have been upset by other teams during midweek games including Texas State, Dallas Baptist, and Winthrop.

The Cowboys are just 1-6 in Big 12 play. Most recently, they were swept by the Kansas Jayhawks on the road in Lawrence. Currently, the team ranks dead last in the Big 12 after starting the season in D1 Baseball’s top 25.

Not only are they dead last in the standings, but they are also last in the Big 12 in team hitting with a .265 team batting average.

Oklahoma State has missed out on some opportunities for wins. Over the course of this season, three games have been canceled. However, the struggles nonetheless persist.

The Cowboys have won 40 or more games in each of the last three seasons and have won two Big 12 championships over that same stretch. That goal is becoming harder to reach at the rate they are playing.

Up Next – The road does not get easier as they will play against the Kansas State Wildcats this weekend for a three-game series at O’Brate Stadium. The Wildcats are 19-8 overall and 6-1 in Big 12 play as they are first place currently in the conference.

This has the makings of a make-or-break series for Oklahoma State and their season. The first pitch for the game on Friday, April 4, is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT.
