Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani added to their historic 2024 campaigns last night. Here’s one thing you missed from last night’s MLB action.

Baltimore Orioles 9, New York Yankees 7 – The Yankees came up short against the Orioles, meaning they will have to wait another day to clinch the division. Aaron Judge hit his 57th home run of the season in the loss.

Pittsburgh Pirates 2, Milwaukee Brewers 1 – The Pirates did just enough against Freddy Peralta who notched his 200th strikeout of the season. He became the fourth Brewers pitcher in franchise history to reach the mark multiple times.

Detroit Tigers 7, Tampa Bay Rays 1 – The Tigers are starting to look dangerously hot heading into the postseason. They are tied with the Kansas City Royals with a two-game lead over the Minnesota Twins for the final wild card spot.

Cleveland Guardians 5, Cincinnati Reds 2 – The Guardians’ pitching staff was the story in this matchup. They carried a perfect game into the seventh inning before a leadoff bunt single by TJ Friedl.

Philadelphia Phillies 9, Chicago Cubs 6 – The Phillies bounced back after a loss Tuesday. Trea Turner hit his 20th home run of the year.

Kansas City Royals 3, Washington Nationals 0 – The Royals shut out the Nationals for the second consecutive night. In what was essentially a bullpen game for the Royals, the Nationals only had two hits.

Toronto Blue Jays 6, Boston Red Sox 1 – Jonathan Clase had a great night at the plate to lead the Blue Jays offense. He went 3-3 with an RBI and a walk. He also hit his first career home run.

Chicago White Sox 4, Los Angeles Angels 3 – The White Sox avoided their 121st loss again. This time, thanks to a walk-off single in the 10th inning by Andrew Benintendi.

Minnesota Twins 8, Miami Marlins 3 – The Twins picked up a win, maintaining their ground in the Wild Card race. Byron Buxton tied the game with a 450-foot home run in the fourth inning, and the Twins offense never looked back.

Seattle Mariners 8, Houston Astros 1 – Julio Rodriguez hit his 20th home run of the season while George Kirby went six quality innings with six strikeouts.

St. Louis Cardinals 5, Colorado Rockies 2 – Erick Fedde shined for the Cardinals. He went seven innings, allowing just one run and striking out 10.

Arizona Diamondbacks 8, San Francisco Giants 2 – Zach Gallen led the way for the Diamondbacks as they try to lock up a postseason spot. His 11-strikeout performance extended the wild card lead as the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves did not play their game.

Texas Rangers 5, Oakland Athletics 1 – After a walk-off in game one, the A’s came up short in game two. The final game played in the Coliseum will be a rubber match in front of a packed crowd.

Los Angeles Dodgers 4, San Diego Padres 3 – Shohei Ohtani stole his 56th base and delivered a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning. The Dodgers tagged three earned runs on Dylan Cease in the win.
