Oregon Ducks Score 63 Runs in Three Games Against Columbia

On Saturday, the Oregon Ducks got a series win over the Columbia Lions after defeating them twice in one day during a doubleheader. The final scores of the games were 35-1 and 8-3 respectively.

The Ducks also got a 20-11 win over Columbia on Friday. The offense for head coach Mark Wasikowski’s team has been off the charts this weekend. Here is a look at what has gone down.

On Friday, the team had 18 hits. Burke-Lee Mabeus led the way for the Ducks with four hits. Two of them were doubles, which resulted in three RBI.

Designated hitter Dominic Hellman stood out as well. He had two grand slams in the game to help Oregon put the Lions away.

The Ducks had seven players record multiple hits on Friday.

The real, show-stopping performance came in the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday. Oregon put up 35 runs in the game which became a school record.

The team had 25 hits in the game and eight players found themselves getting multiple hits.

Jacob Walsh, Maddox Molony, and Ryan Cooney homered in the game. Molony hit two long balls. Those three players alone combined for 17 RBI.

Mabeus and Hellman had a good game again in the 35-run outing for Oregon. They had three hits each and got a combined 10 RBI.

Jason Reitz also had a great start for the Ducks on the mound. In four innings of work, he struck six Columbia batters and gave up no earned runs.

Oregon won the second game of the doubleheader by a score of 8-3. The home runs came early in the game from Coen Niclai and Anson Aroz.

Mason Neville and Hellman joined in on the action and hit home runs themselves as the Ducks cruised to win the game and take the series.

Oregon will look to bring even more offensive power to PK Park on Sunday as they look to complete a four-game series sweep of the Columbia Lions. The first pitch in Eugene is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. EST.
