On Monday night, Oregon State pitcher Tyler Bellerose was in an automobile accident.
The school later put out a statement saying the freshman right-hander was in “serious medical condition.”
“We ask Beaver Nation to keep Tyler [Bellerose], his family, and Beaver Baseball in your thoughts and surround them with support during this time,” the statement stated from Oregon State Baseball’s X account.
Bellerose has not pitched in a game yet during his college career. He joined the Beavers after playing baseball for Huntington Beach High School in California.
Bellerose was a first-team All-League player and won a Most Valuable Player award during his time with Huntington Beach. During his senior year, he had a 2.10 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 36 2/3 innings.

The Oregon State Beavers were set to face off against the Oregon Ducks in an in-state rivalry on Tuesday, April 14.
The game at Hillsboro Hops Ballpark in Hillsboro, Ore. was postponed, according to the Oregon State Athletics website. This announcement came during the devastating news surrounding Bellerose.
Both schools are working on a new date for the game.
The Beavers defeated Oregon 10-6 the first time they played at PK Park in Eugene on March 3. The two schools will play on Wednesday, April 22, at Goss Stadium in Corvallis.
World Baseball Network sends thoughts and prayers to Tyler Bellerose, the Bellerose family, and the Oregon State baseball community during this time.
