The Pakistan National Baseball Championship will be held on June 30 in Rawalpindi, the third-largest city in the Pakistani province of Punjab.

Pakistan’s manager, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, told the WBSC, “This championship will showcase the best baseball talent across the country.” This tournament will create a competitive atmosphere that all spectators will be interested in and enjoy.

The teams expected to compete include “Baluchistan, K.P., Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad, the Pakistan Army, Pakistan WAPDA, Pakistan Police, and HEC.” The Pakistan Army is the most recent champion, with WAPDA finishing second and Islamabad finishing third.

Pakistan’s national team is on the rise. They are not only the defending West Asia Baseball Champion but also participated in the World Baseball Classic qualifiers in 2023, demonstrating their ability at a high level.

This is also a younger team than most. They first fielded a team just before the 1992 Olympics. Then, they continued to compete at various regional tournaments around Asia before making their first appearance in the World Baseball Classic Qualifiers in 2017.

According to the World Baseball Softball Federation, Pakistan is ranked #38 globally and is looking to improve as a team to one day qualify for the World Baseball Classic

For aspiring players, this tournament is not just a competition but a gateway to international baseball. It’s a golden opportunity to get scouted and pave their way to play baseball globally while contributing to the sport’s growth and recognition in Pakistan.
