Pakistan Wins First-Ever Arab Classic

The first Arab Classic has ended, and Pakistan emerged as the tournament’s first-ever winner.

Pakistan was undefeated in the group stage, going 4-0 and scoring at least ten runs in each game. Their pitching was one of their highlights, as they allowed a total of six runs in all four group-stage games.

During the group stage, Pakistan’s offense was led by two great players, Zan Shariff von Schlegell and Muhammad Hussain, who had at least one RBI in each of the four group-stage games. Von Schlegell had the highlight of the first round with his grand slam inside-the-park home run.

Pakistan faced off against Sri Lanka in the Semi-Finals on day four. Unlike their group stage games, Pakistan would pitch their way to a win, beating Sri Lanka 3-0. The big performance of the day was by pitcher M. Amjad Aslam, who threw seven shutout innings. He was backed by tournament MVP Muhammad Hussain, who recorded the first run of the day.

Once they reached the finals, Pakistan would not look back, as they would go back to what worked, and they would crush the UAE 12-1 in the finals. The offense came back to life thanks to a homer by Moosa Nonomiya and RBIs from Pierce Khan and Amar Mahmood.

Baseball United created the Arab Classic in hopes to grow the game globally, so far so good.
