Panamanians secure their first victory of the tournament, while the host team, wearing blue, advances to the final
(Press Release; Pan American Baseball Confederation) – The Panamanian team ended Venezuela’s (White) undefeated streak, while Venezuela (Blue) delivered a decisive blow to secure their place in the final of the U10 International Championship.
Panama’s (1-4) 1-0 victory over Venezuela White (4-1) was their first of the tournament, in which they will now compete for the bronze medal.
The standout player was Alejandro Delgado, the winning pitcher who threw 4.1 innings, issuing two walks and striking out two.
Meanwhile, Venezuela Blue (3-2) took a decisive step towards the final by defeating Brazil (2-3) 10-0 by knockout in four innings.
Jean González led the way with two home runs, going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs.
The Opening Round concludes on Thursday with Venezuela (White) visiting Brazil and Panama visiting Venezuela (Blue).
