On Monday, the Southeastern Conference announced its weekly awards for players during this weekend’s action, and Auburn’s Eric Guevara, a native of Parque Lefevre, Panama, was awarded SEC player of the week.
The Auburn third baseman was phenomenal during this weekend against South Carolina. He finished with 12 hits total and had four hits in each game.
He is the first player to do accomplish three or more consecutive four-hit games in Auburn’s history since 2000.
Two of those hits Guevara had resulted in home runs. In the first game against the Gamecocks on Thursday, he hit a grand slam. In that same game, he was a double away from hitting for the cycle.
In total, Guevara was the leading stimulant of the Auburn offense with nine RBI and seven runs scored himself.
On defense, he also had a perfect fielding percentage during this weekend’s series against South Carolina.
Following the South Carolina series, the Panamanian sophomore is batting .340 with an on-base percentage of .383. He has a fielding percentage of .959 this season. Both Guevara’s batting and fielding numbers have improved in season two playing at Auburn.
Up Next – The Auburn Tigers have four games left in the 2025 regular season. On Tuesday, May 13, they will face off against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.
Following that midweek matchup, they will travel to Ole Miss to play the Rebels at Swayze Field in Oxford. That weekend series will be played from May 15-17.
The first pitch for Tuesday’s game against Jacksonville State is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT at Plainsman Park.
