Paul Skenes continued his phenomenal rookie season, picking up his tenth win and 14th quality start in just his 20th appearance. Here’s everything you missed in last night’s MLB action.

Pirates 3, Marlins 2

Rookie phenom Paul Skenes continued his dominance with a quality start against the Marlins. Scenes went six innings, allowing just one run, and struck out nine. Scenes picked up his 10th win of the season.

Cubs 10, Dodgers 3

The Cubs held the Dodgers in check despite Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani, and Freddie Freeman going 5-9 with five walks. Cody Bellinger homered against his former club in the first inning, and the Cubs never relinquished the lead.

Guardians 5, White Sox 3

The Guardians extended their lead in the AL Central with a victory to start the series vs. the White Sox. Emmanuel Clase picked up his league-leading 43rd save. He needs three more to tie the Guardians single-season record.

Mets 3, Blue Jays 2

In a game with seven hits, the Mets’ three runs off three hits proved enough for a critical win. Trailing 2-1 in the top of the eighth, the Mets scored two runs on a wild pitch and a passed ball to take the lead. The Mets now hold a one-game lead over the Atlanta Braves for the final NL Wild Card spot.

Reds 1, Braves 0

The Reds threw their sixth shutout of the season. Ty France’s first-inning RBI double proved to be the deciding hit. The Reds not only shut out the Braves but held them to just two hits on the night in the series opener.

Phillies 2, Rays 1

Kody Clemens delivered his second career walk-off hit as the Phillies avoid heading to extras against the Rays. Bryce Harper scored from third on the bases-loaded RBI single from Clemens.

Red Sox 12, Orioles 3

Rob Refsnyder and Tyler O’Neill each hit two home runs as the Red Sox routed the Orioles. Not only did each have two home runs, they went back-to-back twice to get them.

Angels 6, Twins 2

Reid Detmers delivered his fourth quality start of the season. He pitched six innings with eight strikeouts. The Twins fourth straight loss leaves them only two and a half games ahead of the Red Sox for the third ALWild Card spot.

Yankees 10, Royals 4

Aaron Judge and Bobby Witt Jr., the two frontrunners for the American League MVP Award, had relatively quiet nights as the Yankees took game one. Austin Wells hit his seventh home run since the All-Star break. He is hitting .295 since then.
