Arizona Diamondbacks right fielder Pavin Smith hit three home runs against the Houston Astros. Here’s everything you missed last night in the MLB.

Diamondbacks 12, Astros 6

Pavin Smith hit three home runs in five trips to the plate. He was only a two-run home run from the first-ever home run cycle in MLB history, with two of his home runs coming off of Justin Verlander.

Giants 7, Padres 6

The Giants tagged Joe Musgrove for six runs in the top of the fourth inning. Matt Chapman, Jerar Encarnacion, and Luis Matos hit home runs to chase Musgrove from the game en route to a series win.

Dodgers 4, Guardians 0

Jack Flaherty pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts, picking up his fifth win since joining the Dodgers. Shohei Ohtani hit his 46th home run of the season as he continued his chase for the first 50/50 season ever.

Tigers 9, Athletics 1

Tigers rookie Ty Madden threw five innings, one one-run ball behind an opener, picking up his first career win. The Tigers have pulled to three and a half games back of the twins for the third and final AL Wild Card spot.

Rangers 7, Angels 4

Andrew Heaney struck out eight in six innings pitched as the Rangers picked up a series win against the Angels. The Rangers have now won seven of their last ten games.

Cubs 2, Yankees 1

Gerrit Cole picked up his fourth loss of the season after the Yankees offense went dormant after one run in the second inning. The Cubs scored both runs in the first inning with a two-out, bases-loaded single from Isaac Paredes.

Mariners 10, Cardinals 4

The Mariners scored ten runs on 13 hits. The once-ice-cold Mariners offense has had ten or more hits in four of their last five games. They have pulled back within three and a half games of the final AL Wild Card spot.

Rockies 4, Brewers 1

Rhys Hoskins delivered an RBI single for the Brewers in the first inning, but the offense only added two more hits the rest of the game. Kyle Freeland picked up the win as the Rockies won the series against the Brewers.

Royals 2, Twins 0

The Royals shut out the Twins to complete the series sweep. Michael Wacha pitched seven innings and struck out seven, handing the Twins their sixth loss in ten games.

Marlins 10, Phillies 1

Seth Johnson made his Phillies debut, and the Marlins made it one to forget. They tagged the rookie for nine earned runs, capped off by a seven-run third inning. The Phillies were held hitless for five innings by Marlins starter Edward Cabrera.

Reds 3, Mets 1

The Mets failed to provide run support for starter Luis Severino, who struck out eight and allowed just one earned run. The Reds took the lead in the top of the ninth inning after a two-run double by Santiago Espinal to break the tie.

White Sox 7, Red Sox 2

The White Sox scored five runs in the ninth inning to pick up their 33rd win of the season. Luis Robert Jr. went 3-4 at the plate and picked up his 35th RBI of the season.

Braves 4, Blue Jays 3

The Braves walked off the Blue Jays in the 11th inning as Sean Murphy hit a ball up the middle with the bases loaded. Braves’ Eli White scored from third base, beating the throw from Blue Jays second baseman Spencer Horwitz.

Pirates 7, Nationals 3

Pirates rookie first baseman Billy Cook made his MLB debut and picked up two hits. His first career hit came in the first inning when he hit a two-run double in his first at-bat.

Rays 2, Orioles 0

Corbin Burnes looked great again for the Orioles, but the offense couldn’t give him much help. Burnes had held the Rays scoreless until a decisive two-run home run by Jonny DeLuca in the sixth inning.
