A team that has been dominant in both Premier12 tournaments in 2015 and 2019 is Mexico. Mexico finished in fourth in 2015, and their best finish came in 2019, at third place. They will look to place well once again in this year’s Premier12 tournament.
Mexico has tons of talent that will be set to take the field, as their pitching looks to be their strong suit. Leading their rotation are former MLB pitchers Adrian Martinez and Manny Bañuelos. look to provide valuable innings with Mexico. The bullpen is intriguing, as ten-year MLB veteran pitcher Fernando Salas and former World Series champion southpaw hurler Victor Gonzalez will throw for Mexico this November in relief.
One intriguing bat that will add much power to Mexico’s lineup is former 2016 Home Run King, Chris Carter. Carter has spent the past five seasons playing in Mexico, where he has hit over 100 home runs throughout his tenure. Also joining Carter, former big leaguers Tres Barrera, Alejo Lopez, Alan Trejo and Jose Rojas will look to provide a spark to Mexico’s lineup. With a veteran presence in Chris Carter, the Mexican lineup also contains talented youth as they will look to make waves in the upcomign tournament.
Mexico’s first game in this year’s Premier12 will be on Nov. 9, the opening night of the Premier12, where they will face Venezuela. Mexico will get to play in front of a home crowd, with the game being held at Estadio Panamericano in Guadalajara, Mexico. The first pitch is schedule for 9:00 p.m. EST.
