Rangers Losing Streak Reaches Five: MLB Recap

It was another night full of close finishes in the MLB. Here’s everything you missed from last night.  

Phillies 2 Marlins 0 

  • Christopher Sanchez threw a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits and striking out nine. Bryson Stott drove in both runs for the Phillies. 

Rays 3 Nationals 1  

  • Jose Siri homered twice to help the Rays to the win. Zach Eflin shut the Nats out through six innings and struck out six.

Orioles 2 Rangers 1 

  • The Orioles scored two runs off Max Scherzer thanks to a Colton Cowser homer and a single from Gunnar Henderson. Albert Suarez allowed three hits but zero runs during his six innings. 

Yankees 16 Blue Jays 5 

  • The Yankees scored seven in the ninth to blow out Toronto and stop their four-game skid. Soto and Torres both homered and drove in three runs. 

Mets 7 Astros 2  

  • The Mets homered three times to beat the Astros and move above .500. Houston outhit the Mets but failed to capitalize.

Padres 9 Red Sox 2 

  • All nine runs from San Diego came in the fifth. Jackson Merrill and Kyle Higashioka both homered to push the Padres to victory. 

White Sox 5 Rockies 3 

  • Drew Thorpe went six strong innings and allowed two runs on two hits. Tommy Pham provided two clutch RBIs in the sixth.

Braves 6 Pirates 1 

  • A five-run third from the Braves would be enough to get past Pittsburgh. Marcell Ozuna drove in three with a double in the fifth. Charlie Morton struck out seven through six, and a third innings pitched.

Royals 10 Guardians 3 

  • The Royals hit four home runs and collected thirteen hits. Alec Marsh allowed one Guardians run through six innings. 

Brewers 4 Cubs 2 

  • All six runs come in the fourth inning. Jackson Chourio provided all four Brewers runs with his first career grand slam. Colin Rea struck out eight Chicago hitters in five and a third. 

Cardinals 1 Reds 0 

  • A sac fly from Alec Burleson in the third inning proved to be the winning run. Cardinals pitching allowed four runs and Ryan Helsley picked up save number twenty-nine, which leads the league.

Angels 5 Tigers 2 

  • A three-run homer from Logan O’Hoppe in the eighth inning broke the tie for the Halos and would be enough to get the win. Angels pitching allowed two hits. 

A’s 9 Diamondbacks 4 

  • The A’s scored three runs in the eighth and ninth innings to rally toward the win. Oakland had lost eleven straight road games before this win.

Mariners 3 Twins 2 

  • Cal Raleigh drove in the winning run in the tenth to walk off the Twins. Logan Gilbert allowed two runs on four hits through six innings.

Giants 5 Dodgers 3  

  • Brett Wisely hit a walk-off home run to propel the Giants past the Dodgers. Logan Webb pitched seven innings, allowing five hits and two runs. Matt Chapman and Luis Matos also homered for San Francisco.
