Rising star Nick White headlines Canada’s 2026 U-23 Men’s National Softball Team core players list

World No. 4 Canada announced eight athletes who have been selected as core players who will represent Canada at the WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup 2026. The tournament will be played from 25 April to 3 May, 2026 in Sincelejo, Colombia.

The eight core athletes named to the 2026 U-23 Men’s National Team are:

  • Tyler Branchaud
  • Connor Brooks
  • Blake Brubacher
  • Brody Fraser
  • Max Major
  • Alex McGillivray
  • Nic Neid
  • Nick White

“Our coaching staff is very excited to announce the athlete pool and core athletes who will represent Canada at the WBSC U-23 Men’s World Cup in Colombia,” stated Doug Allin, Head Coach of the Canadian U-23 Men’s National Team program. “We feel the core athletes have proven they deserve to be named to the team based on their performance, leadership, experience, dedication, and talent. Our staff will now focus on working with these athletes over the next few months before naming the remainder of the roster to give us the best opportunity to compete for a World Cup gold medal.”

The announcement of the core players follows the timelines identified in the U-23 Men’s National Team Selection Process. The coaching staff will select the remaining eight (8) athletes by 15 January, 2026 to form its 16-player World Cup roster.

In addition to the core athletes, the following 13 athletes have been named to the 2026 U-23 Men’s National Athlete Pool and are in consideration for the eight final roster spots:

  • Mark Corbett
  • Sean Demarest
  • Adrian Green
  • Nick McGrayne
  • Nathan Peters
  • Will Schlotzhauer
  • Dale Schweyer
  • Danny Scott
  • Aaron Waugh
  • Joseph Weiler
  • Aidan Yarde

Canada qualified for the WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup with a silver-medal performance at the II U-23 Pan American Championship that took place September 13-20 in La Pampa, Argentina.

Athletes named to the U-23 Men’s National Team Athlete Pool are eligible to be invited to Men’s National Team training, development and selection camps. Athletes may be added or removed from the National Team Athlete Pool at any time at the coaching staff’s discretion.
