Baseball United is the first professional baseball league in the Middle East and will host its first season this year. However, there will be a showcase series between two of their new teams before that. The Mid East Falcons and Arabia Wolves will face off in the UAE Series in Dubai.

The league has already hosted an All-Star showcase and an international tournament, the Arab Classic, which Pakistan won. Its four teams include former MLB players and talent from the Middle East.

The Falcons and Wolves feature elite talent like all teams in the league. Robinson Canó and Didi Gregorius will suit up for the Wolves during the showcase. Meanwhile, Pablo Sandoval and Alejandro De Aza will play for the Falcons.

The showcase series will take place from February 14-16 in Dubai. Canó is coming off a great campaign in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol. Canó’s team, the Diablos Rojos, won a championship, and Canó won league MVP. He slashed a staggering .431/.475/.639 with 14 home runs. He is currently playing in the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de la República Dominicana (LIDOM).

Baseball United is a fast-growing league. The UAE showcase will take place in its new stadium in Dubai. The league’s co-founder and CEO spoke about its growth during the announcement of the showcase.

“Thanks to the hard work of our team and the inspired collaboration with partners, we closed out last year with several historic milestones,” said Kash Shaikh. “We built the first ballpark in the history of the region, hosted the largest national team tournament in the history of the region, and launched our official merchandise program at retail and online. Next month, we are making history again. Our two UAE-based franchises – the first professional baseball franchises in the history of the Middle East – will take the field for the first time. I’m so excited for our fans in Dubai and around the world to finally see the Wolves and Falcons in action.”
