Roki Sasaki to Meet With Yankees

As the offseason continues, the New York Yankees are set for a meeting with international free agent star pitcher Roki Sasaki, according to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman. They become the first team to have an in-person meeting with the right-handed pitcher.

Since arriving in the United States, the 23-year-old has been staying in California, and Brian Cashman and company are set to visit to talk to the rising superstar. Sasaki debuted in the NPB with the Chiba Lotte Marines in 2019 and, last season, pitched to a 10-5 record with a 2.35 ERA in 18 starts, striking out 129 batters in 111 innings pitched.

On December 11th, the Yankees traded catcher Carlos Narvaez to the Boston Red Sox for pitcher Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz and international signing bonus pool money. Since acquiring the extra international bonus pool money, it will be intriguing to see if the Yankees will push harder for Sasaki.
