After slugging seven home runs in 34 games at Double-A Richmond, San Francisco Giants top prospect Bryce Eldridge has been promoted to Triple-A Sacramento, according to San Francisco Chronicle reporter Susan Slusser on Tuesday, June 3.

Eldridge, 20, is the Giants’ No. 1 prospect and ranked No. 21 overall by MLBPipeline.com. The move was made official one day after the club released veteran first baseman Jake Lamb to clear space on the Triple-A roster.

Eldridge is not yet on the Giants’ 40-man roster and began his professional career after being selected 16th overall in the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft out of James Madison High School in Vienna, Virginia. He passed on a commitment to the University of Alabama to sign with San Francisco.

As a high school senior, Eldridge went 9-0 with a 1.06 ERA, striking out 66 batters with only eight walks across 39.2 innings. At the plate, he hit .422 with eight home runs, 23 RBI, and a 1.716 OPS.

He was named MVP of the 2022 U-18 World Cup for Team USA, where he helped secure a gold medal victory over Chinese Taipei with a final score of 5-1 at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Florida.

During the U-18 World Cup, Eldridge batted .316 across eight games, recording six hits in 19 at-bats with one double, three home runs, 13 RBI, seven walks, and seven strikeouts. On the mound, he made three appearances out of the bullpen, throwing three innings with one save while allowing one hit, no earned runs, two walks, and striking out five of the 10 batters he faced.

In his first professional season in 2023, Eldridge split time between the Arizona Complex League and Low-A San Jose. Across 31 games, he batted .294/.400/.505 with 32 hits, five doubles, six home runs, 18 RBI, 20 walks, and 30 strikeouts in 130 plate appearances.

In 2024, Eldridge played at four levels—Low-A San Jose, High-A Eugene, Double-A Richmond, and Triple-A Sacramento. He appeared in 116 games and hit .291 with 130 hits, 27 doubles, two triples, 23 home runs, 92 RBI, six stolen bases, 59 walks, 132 strikeouts, and a .889 OPS over 519 plate appearances.

That same year, he was selected to the Futures Game at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, and named Northwest League Top Prospect and Baseball America High Class-A All-Star with the Eugene Emeralds. He was also honored as a Baseball America Minor League All-Star with the Sacramento River Cats.

In the 2024 Arizona Fall League, Eldridge played 10 games with the Scottsdale Scorpions and batted .293/.348/.512 across 46 plate appearances, totaling 12 hits, three doubles, two home runs, six RBI, three walks, and 16 strikeouts.

Eldridge was invited to big league camp during 2025 spring training and appeared in eight Cactus League games, going 2-for-11 with a home run, two RBI, one walk, and eight strikeouts before being assigned to Double-A Richmond on April 4.

This season at Richmond, Eldridge has played in 34 games and batted .280/.350/.512 over 140 plate appearances, tallying 35 hits, eight doubles, seven home runs, 20 RBI, 13 walks, and 39 strikeouts.

In three professional seasons, Eldridge has appeared in 181 games and batted .290 with 197 hits, 40 doubles, two triples, 36 home runs, 130 RBI, seven stolen bases, 92 walks, 205 strikeouts, and an .887 OPS in 789 plate appearances.

The Sacramento River Cats continue their six-game road series against the Houston Astros affiliate, the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, at Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas. First pitch on June 4 is set for 8 p.m. Eastern.

All minor league games are streamed live in BallySports.
