Jonathan Schoop Leads Santa Maria Pirates To Curaçao Baseball Finals

On September 18 in Curaçao, the Santa Maria Pirates are headed to the finals courtesy of a walk-off home run by former MLB player Jonathan Schoop as the Pirates seek their 12th Championship.

Tensions were high on both sides during that game, as the Pirates manager was ejected. With the game tied at one apiece, Schoop came to the plate with a runner on second and was able to blast the Pirates to a 3-1 victory over the Wildcats.

The Pirates will now face the Royal Scorpions as they seek to add another Championship title to their collection. The first game of the championship took place on September 22, and the Pirates defeated the Royal Scorpions in an 11-10 final to secure Game 1.

Jonathan Schoop and the Pirates will face the Royal Scorpions for Game 2 on September 25 at 8 PM EST. The game will take place at Tio Daou Ballpark in Willemstad, Curaçao.
