The Seattle Mariners have called up right-handed pitcher Blas Castano from Triple-A Tacoma, adding depth to their bullpen. Castano, 26, was added to the Mariners’ 40-man roster in November 2024 and brings a sinker-heavy arsenal with a 93 mph fastball, slider, cutter, and change-up. In 2024, he posted a 4.38 ERA and 108 strikeouts over 125.1 innings across Double-A and Triple-A.

Castaño originally signed with the Yankees in 2018 for $10,000 following reports from scout Raul Gonzalez, the same scout who signed J.C. Escarra.
