Seven Arkansas Players on the Fayetteville Regional All-Tournament Team

After a regional championship for the Arkansas Razorbacks, the all-tournament team was announced for the Fayetteville regional. The Razorbacks had seven players make the list.

SEC Player of the Year Wehiwa Aloy, Cam Kozeal, and Logan Maxwell Make the Cut – Middle infielders Wehiwa Aloy and Cam Kozeal were among the group of seven players to make it, along with outfielder Logan Maxwell.

During all three regional games, Aloy had four hits, two home runs, and six RBI, showing off the talent he has for SEC Player of the Year.

As for Kozeal, he also had two home runs and six RBI while accomplishing this with six total hits.

Maxwell went hitless against North Dakota State. However, he played great in his final two games. In those two games, he had four hits and during the game against Creighton on June 1, he had two home runs and three RBI.

Three Arkansas Pitchers Make the List – Zach Root and Gage Wood made the list as pitchers on the regional’s all-tournament team.

Root delivered a great start against the Creighton Blue Jays. In six innings, he struck out seven batters while allowing only three hits, one walk, and no earned runs.

As for Wood, he pitched the day after Root against Creighton also. He delivered a masterful start. In six innings of work, he struck out 13 batters. He had the best performance of his season.

Talented Arkansas reliever Parker Coil was the final pitcher to make the list. He made an appearance against North Dakota State and threw 3 1/3 innings. During that stretch, he struck out four batters while giving up no walks and no earned runs.

Catcher Ryder Helfrick Won the Fayetteville Regional MVP Award – Not only did Arkansas catcher Ryder Helfrick make the all-tournament team for the regional, but he also won the MVP award for his weekend performance.

Helfrick had hits in all three games and totaled six throughout the weekend. He also had three home runs and four RBI as well.

The Arkansas catcher talked about his performance all weekend with the media, saying, “I just stuck with my approach. I was just waiting on getting good pitches to hit, whether it was a fastball or a slider, and then just put a good swing on it.”

Up Next – For the first time since 2022, Arkansas has made it to a super regional. They will host the defending national champion Tennessee Volunteers at Baum-Walker Stadium for a chance to go to the 2025 College World Series.

The first game of this best two-out-of-three series will be Saturday, June 7, with the first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m. EDT.
