Shohei Ohtani Makes History: One Thing From Each MLB Game

Shohei Ohtani finally reached the 50-50 mark as his magical seasons continues. Here’s everything you missed from last night’s MLB action.

Los Angeles Dodgers 20, Miami Marlins 4

A 20-run game is impressive for any team, but when one player delivers 10 RBIs, he becomes the talking point. Shohei Ohtani went 6-6 with two home runs and 10 RBIs as the Dodgers routed the Marlins. He also become the first player ever to have a 50 home run, 50 stolen base season.

Arizona Diamondbacks 5, Milwaukee Brewers 1

One night after clinching the division, the Brewers were unable to gain any ground in the race for a bye in the Wild Card round. Brandon Pfaadt had a career-high 12 strikeouts as the Brewers were held to just two hits in the game.

Baltimore Orioles 5, San Francisco Giants 3

The Orioles got back in the win column with a 10-hit, five-run game. They avoided the sweep as eight of their nine starters recorded a hit.

Cleveland Guardians 3, Minnesota Twins 2

The Guardians clinched a postseason spot on a walk-off single from Andrés Giménez in the 10th inning. Rookie Kyle Mansard also hit his fourth home run.

Atlanta Braves 15, Cincinnati Reds 3

The Braves must have sensed the Wild Card race getting tight as their offense showed up in a big way. They became the first team ever to hit four, three-run home runs in the same game.

Tampa Bay Rays 2, Boston Red Sox 0

Zack Littell’s quality start led the way for a shutout of the Red Sox. He went seven innings, striking out seven.

New York Mets 10, Philadelphia Phillies 6

The Mets scored ten runs for the third straight game, this time against the Phillies. The Mets hit four home runs en route to a big win for the Wild Card race.

Pittsburgh Pirates 3, St. Louis Cardinals 2

Yasmani Grandal tied this game at two a piece in the seventh inning. In the eighth, Nick Gonzales gave the pirates the lead to finish the comeback on a single.

Toronto Blue Jays 4, Texas Rangers 0

Kumar Rocker’s second outing was not as stellar as his first. He went just three innings, allowing two hits and one earned run. Vladdy swatted two home runs in the win.

Seattle Mariners 3, New York Yankees 2

All of New York’s offense came on one swing of the bat. Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a two-run home run in the third inning, but the Yankees couldn’t overcome a three-run first by Seattle.

Chicago Cubs 7, Washington Nationals 6

Despite being out hit 13-12, the Cubs came through with the win in the series opener. The top of the Cubs order went 8-12 with two RBIs in the win.

Houston Astros 3, Los Angeles Angels 1

Yusei Kikuchi continued his success in an Astros uniform, striking out nine in six innings of work. Josh Nader also picked up his 32nd save of the season.
