The 2026 college baseball season will be the senior season for Kolby Branch, the Georgia Bulldogs’ shortstop.
In a team full of incoming transfers who make up a talented transfer portal class, Branch is going to be a big-time leader for the Bulldogs. His experience in head coach Wes Johnson’s program makes him a must-watch player for Georgia in 2025.
Branch and His 2025 Season
Branch has two seasons under his belt in Athens. In 2025, he improved in a big way. The Georgia shortstop had a .300 batting average, 10 doubles, 13 home runs, and 41 RBIs.
He also improved his speed on the base paths with six stolen bases in 2025 compared to just two in 2024.
Branch’s best game of the 2025 season came in the NCAA Tournament during the Athens regional against the Binghamton Bearcats.
Branch had four hits, a double, two RBIs, and scored three runs in a 20-4 win for the Bulldogs.
After the win over Binghamton, Georgia went on to lose to Duke and Oklahoma State, which knocked them out of the NCAA Tournament.
Up Next for Georgia
The Georgia Bulldogs will begin the 2026 college baseball season on February 13 against the Wright State Raiders.
The game is at Georgia’s home ballpark, Foley Field, and the first pitch is at 3 p.m. EST.
Georgia is ranked 15th in the country to start the season, according to D1 Baseball.
