Slate of World Baseball Classic Spring Training Exhibition Games Announced

The World Baseball Classic officially starts on March 4 when Chinese Taipei takes on Australia at the Tokyo Dome to start Pool Play.

However, the participating nations are getting an opportunity to face off against Major League Baseball teams at spring training to get ready. 

Exhibition games at spring training sites will take place on March 3-4. Nations that are scheduled to play exhibition games during spring training include the United States, Mexico, Italy, Great Britain, Brazil, Cuba, Israel, Nicaragua, Colombia, the Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Panama, Canada and Venezuela. 

All Pool A, B and D teams, except the Dominican Republic, are scheduled to play exhibition games during spring training. Games for those pools do not start until March 6. Following the exhibition games, the teams from Cuba, Panama, Puerto Rico, Colombia and Canada will make their way to Hiram Bithorn Stadium in Puerto Rico. The United States, Mexico, Great Britain, Brazil and Italy will head to Houston to play games at Daikin Park. The Netherlands, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Israel will go to Miami to play at loanDepot Park. 

The teams playing in Miami will play all of their exhibition games against Grapefruit League teams in Florida. Pool C teams, playing in Tokyo, will also play exhibition games. Those games will take place on March 2-3 against Nippon Professional Baseball teams, according to Yakyu Cosmopolitan on X.
