Son of Cuban Baseball Legend Throws Perfect Game

José Contreras played in the big leagues for 11 seasons and earned an All-Star nod. Now his son is making a name for himself.

His son, Joseph, threw a 52-pitch perfect game for Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell, Georgia. He recorded nine strikeouts against Westminster in a 10-run victory.

His father represented Cuba on the global stage plenty of times. Contreras was a Gold Medalist during the 1996 Summer Olympics. He also was a Gold Medalist in the 1999 Pan American Games, 1998 Baseball World Cup, 2001 Baseball World Cup, 1995 Intercontinental Cup and 1998 Central American and Caribbean Games.

Joseph is in the class of 2026 and is currently uncommitted. He has a 9.5 PG Grade.
