South Carolina Gamecocks and Charlotte 49ers to Play Fall Exhibition Game in November

On Wednesday, the Charlotte 49ers announced on their X account that they will be playing the South Carolina Gamecocks in a fall exhibition. The exhibition game is scheduled for Sunday, November 2.  

This game will be a part of the fall team activities both South Carolina and Charlotte will be doing in preparation for the 2026 college baseball season.  

South Carolina and Charlotte 2025 Season Results – The Charlotte 49ers finished the 2025 season 36-22 overall and were 18-9 in American Athletic Conference (AAC) play.  

The team finished second in the conference standings, only behind the UTSA Roadrunners. UTSA made a super regional last season. 

Charlotte’s 2025 season came to an end at the AAC Tournament in Clearwater, Fla. when the South Florida Bulls defeated them 7-6 on May 23.  

The South Carolina Gamecocks finished the 2025 season 28-29 overall and were 6-24 in SEC play.  

It was only the second time the Gamecocks finished below .500 since 1997. The 2025 season was also the first season in Columbia for legendary head coach Paul Mainieri, who is returning once again for the 2026 season.  

When and Where is the Fall Exhibition? – The first pitch for the fall exhibition game between the South Carolina Gamecocks and Charlotte 49ers is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST on November 2.  

The game will be played at South Carolina’s home ballpark, Founders Park, in Columbia, South Carolina. 

In 2025, the Gamecocks had a home record of 23-12. The 49ers had a road record of 11-11.
