On Wednesday, February 25, the Stanford Cardinal played Waseda University in a midweek exhibition game at Sunken Diamond. Waseda University is in Shinjuku, Japan.
The Cardinal defeated them 11-3. Despite the win, it will not count towards Stanford’s overall record as they remain 4-4 overall this season.

Second baseman Sebastian David led Stanford in hitting with three hits. One of his hits was a double.

Center fielder Brock Ketelsen and left fielder Cort MacDonald also had multi-hit days against Waseda. Both outfielders combined for three RBIs, and Ketelsen hit a home run.
In their 11-run effort, Stanford was boosted offensively by a four-run first inning and a six-run seventh inning.
11 Different Pitchers Appear for the Cardinal

Despite three runs in the second, third, and fourth innings for Waseda, the Stanford pitching staff stymied Waseda in the exhibition game’s final five innings. They allowed no runs over that stretch.
