As the Taiwan Series continues with the series between the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions and the CTBC Brothers leading the series at 3-1, there is tons of excitement heading into Game 5. Aside from this year’s series, there is plenty of history in the Taiwan Series between these two teams.
This is now the sixth meeting in the Taiwan Series between the U-Lions and Brothers. The first Taiwan Series that featured both teams came back in 1993. The Brothers beat the U-Lions 4-2 in that series to claim victory. They also met in the Taiwan Series in 2001, 2008, 2009, 2020, and 2021. Both teams have an even record in matchups, at 3-3 in all Taiwan Series meetings.
It will be intriguing to see which team will end up with bragging rights in Taiwan, as Game 5 is set to get underway, where the Brothers will reclaim home-field advantage. The game will be played in Taichung at the Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 AM EST.
