This week, 18-year-old right-handed pitcher Su Lan-Hong signed a deal with the San Diego Padres. According to the United News Network of UDN, is worth someone between $750,000 and $800,000.
A part of Su’s deal includes a scholarship worth $150,000.

Su’s Recent Performance in the 2025 U-18 World Cup – Su Lan-Hong recently played for Chinese Taipei in the 2025 WBSC U-18 World Cup in Japan.
He showcased his big-time talent on the mound with a 1.91 ERA in 7 1/3 innings. During that same stretch, he also had 14 strikeouts compared to just three walks. He also allowed just earned runs and only one extra-base hit.
The two wins during the World Cup credited to his name came in games against Panama and Korea.
His most impressive game during the 2025 U-18 World Cup came against Germany on Sept. 9.
In that game, he pitched 2 2/3 innings and struck out seven batters. He also had just one walk, allowed only one earned run, and allowed only two hits.
Padres Remaining Funds During the International Signing Period – According to baseball reporter Francys Romero, the San Diego Padres now have $2.1 million left in their budget for international signees.
The Major League Baseball international signing period ends on Dec. 15.
