The TCU Horned Frogs are headlined by Sawyer Strosnider. The 2025 Big 12 Freshman of the Year can potentially be a top ten pick in the 2026 MLB Draft.
However, the Horned Frogs have two other players with tons of draft stock. According to MLB Pipeline, outfielder Chase Brunson and right-handed pitcher Tommy LaPour are top 75 MLB Draft prospects heading into 2026.
Brunson is ranked 44th, and LaPour is ranked 62nd.
Brunson and LaPour in 2025 with TCU
In 2025, Brunson was a second-team All-Big 12 player who reached first base in 43 games.
He had a .317 batting average, a .395 on-base percentage, 13 doubles, 12 home runs, and 46 RBI. Brunson was also very good defensively with 127 putouts and only two errors.
LaPour had a great sophomore season with TCU in 2025. The National College Baseball Writers Association named him a second-team All-American and the pitcher of the month in April.
He was also a first-team All-Big 12 player and a member of the All-Big 12 Tournament team.
The junior right-hander had a 3.09 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 90 1/3 innings of work. Over that same stretch, LaPour allowed an opposing batting average of .231.
With 16 starts in all 16 appearances he made a season ago, LaPour will be a staple in TCU’s starting rotation in 2026.
