On Monday, the Tennessee Volunteers landed a commitment from shortstop prospect Leo Nockley.

According to Perfect Game, the Plains, Pa.-native is ranked 35th overall in the 2027 high school class. He is also the second-best prospect in the class from the state of Pennsylvania.

He currently plays baseball for the Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School.

Nockley’s commitment comes less than a week after Tennessee landed a commitment from the second-best player in the class, Dylan Seward.

Tennessee’s Loaded 2027 Recruiting Class and More

The Tennessee Volunteers’ 2027 recruiting class is now loaded with talent.

Nockley is the 12th player in the class to commit to Tennessee. With his commitment, the Volunteers now have nine top 100 players committed to them in the 2027 cycle. That is also the most top 100 commitments on one team.

Tennessee and LSU now stand alone with the top two classes in 2027, according to Perfect Game’s rankings.

The other three teams with top five recruiting classes in 2027 include the Texas Longhorns, TCU Horned Frogs, and Texas A&M Aggies.

After having back-to-back number one-ranked classes during the 2024 and 2025 cycles, Tennessee is set to have another big-time recruiting class in 2026.

In that cycle, the Volunteers have the third-ranked recruiting class with 10 top 100 prospects. Only the LSU Tigers and Vanderbilt Commodores have a better class.

Tennessee’s massive recruiting influence continues to grow with Nockley’s recent commitment.
