Tyler Myatt is sitting towards the top of the 2026 Cape Cod League statistically. He is one of six players with 30 hits or more this summer while playing for the Orleans Firebirds.
The Tennessee Volunteers slugger is also third in the Cape Cod League in home runs this season with four this summer. The only two players with more are Kansas State’s Tyler Smolinski and VCU’s Jacob Lee.
Due to his huge season with Orleans, Myatt was named a 2026 Cape Cod League All-Star. He was one of three Tennessee baseball players who were All-Stars in the 2026 Cape Cod League. Levi Clark and Ethan Baiotto were also All-Stars.
Myatt and his 2026 season with Tennessee
Myatt transferred to Tennessee after playing junior college baseball for Walters State Community College. He was the NJCAA Player of the Year in 2025.
In 2026, he had 73 total at-bats with the Volunteers. He finished with a .247 batting average.
Myatt had six doubles, three home runs, and 12 RBIs. He had one multi-hit game during his redshirt-sophomore season for the Volunteers against Bellarmine on February 24.
Myatt’s three home runs this season came against Nicholls, Kent State, and Austin Peay. The home run against Kent State on February 20 was a walk-off that won Tennessee the game.
Tennessee season results in 2026
Myatt was a part of Tennessee head coach Josh Elander’s first season at the helm in Knoxville. The Volunteers finished with a 38-22 overall record and a 15-15 record in Southeastern Conference (SEC) play.
Tennessee made the NCAA Tournament for the seventh straight season. They played in the Chapel Hill regional, which was hosted by the North Carolina Tar Heels.
