Texas A&M Hitting Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Caleb Longley Resigns After One Season

On Monday, January 12, D1 Baseball’s Kendall Rogers reported that Texas A&M hitting coach and recruiting coordinator Caleb Longley is resigning from his position immediately.

Longley was on Texas A&M’s coaching staff for just the 2025 season. He joined the program during the summer of 2024 after he spent three seasons with the Texas Longhorns as their hitting coach and recruiting coordinator.

Texas A&M and Longley Dispute Over Baseball Training Aids Brand

According to Rogers, Texas A&M and Longley are parting ways due to a dispute about MARV Training.

MARV Training is a brand owned by Longley that sells baseball training aids such as swing path trainers, baseballs, and resistance bands.

Rogers mentioned in his report that Longley is open to both professional and collegiate coaching opportunities moving forward.

Texas A&M’s Hitting Under Longley, 2025 Season Woes

The Texas A&M Aggies were one of the worst-hitting teams in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) a season ago under Longley. They had a team batting average of .260, which ranked last in the conference.

A slight bright spot in last season’s offense was that they ranked as a borderline top 25 team in home run hitting. The Aggies had 95 home runs in 2025 as a team.

As a whole, the 2025 season was a letdown for Texas A&M after they started as D1 Baseball’s number one ranked team in their preseason top 25 rankings.

The Aggies finished with an overall record of 30-26. They had a record of 11-19 in SEC play and finished 14th in the conference’s standings.

The only teams worse than Texas A&M in the SEC last season were the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Missouri Tigers.

Up Next for Texas A&M

With a little over a month left until the 2026 college baseball season begins, Texas A&M is now searching for a new hitting coach and recruiting coordinator to replace Longley.

The Aggies’ first game of the season will be at Blue Bell Park on February 13 against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles.
