On Saturday, May 9, the Texas A&M Aggies defeated the Ole Miss Rebels 18-5 at Swayze Field in Oxford, Miss. The game ended after seven innings.
For Texas A&M, this win creates a rubber match tomorrow against the Rebels to determine a series win. It is also their 15th Southeastern Conference (SEC) win of the season.
Chris Hacopian and Ben Royo lead the way for Texas A&M
Chris Hacopian and Ben Royo both had three hits apiece in the dominant win over Ole Miss. Both players also hit two home runs each in the game and combined for eight RBIs.
Hacopian and Royo were a major part of a home run-hitting slugfest for the Aggies. As a team, Texas A&M hit seven home runs.
Aside from Hacopian and Royo, other Texas A&M players who hit home runs include Caden Sorrell, Blake Binderup, and Bear Harrison.
Harrison had a productive day with two hits and two RBIs against the Rebels.
Jorian Wilson and Gavin Grahovac with Multiple Hits
Jorian Wilson and Gavin Grahovac also had big days at the plate for the Aggies. Both players had two hits apiece.
Grahovac had two doubles against Ole Miss that led to four RBIs. Wilson scored three runs in the game.
Up next for Texas A&M
The Texas A&M Aggies have a 37-11 overall record. They are also 15-8 in SEC play.
The rubber match between Texas A&M and Ole Miss at Swayze Field is at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 9.
