Texas Longhorns two-sport athlete Jonah Williams will miss the remainder of the 2026 college baseball season, according to Orange Bloods’ Anwar Richardson.
Williams will have surgery on his shoulder after he injured himself diving for a ball in foul territory.
Williams was a sophomore on the Texas baseball team who had a .304 batting average in 23 at-bats. He also had two doubles and four RBIs this season.
His best game during this college baseball season came against the Michigan State Spartans on February 22. He had two hits, a double, and two RBIs in a 4-0 win for the Longhorns.
In 2025, Williams had a .327 batting average, three doubles, and 10 RBIs in 55 at-bats with Texas.
Williams plays football for the Longhorns
As a two-sport athlete, Williams is not only a member of the Texas baseball team but also a member of the Texas Longhorns football team.
Williams plays defensive back for the Longhorns. In his freshman season in 2025, he had five solo tackles and nine total tackles.
His best game came on December 31, 2025, against the Michigan Wolverines in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, where he had three total tackles. Texas defeated Michigan in that bowl game, 41-27.

The Texas Longhorns have an 18-1 overall record this season. They are the number two team in the country in D1 Baseball’s top 25 rankings. The only team ranked ahead of them is UCLA.
The next game for Texas is on Tuesday, March 17, against the Tarleton State Texans. The game is at Disch-Falk Field in Austin, and the first pitch is at 7:30 p.m. EST.
