The 2025 West Virginia Fall Exhibition Schedule

The West Virginia Mountaineers are set to kick off their fall exhibitions soon. They have two games to play against power conference competition in October.

First, the Mountaineers will head to Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio to play the Kentucky Wildcats on Sunday, October 5. The first pitch for that exhibition is scheduled for noon EDT.

Then, on Sunday, October 26, they will play the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on the road at David F. Couch Ballpark in Winston-Salem, N.C. There is no time set for the first pitch of that exhibition yet.

Breaking Down Kentucky and Wake Forest’s 2025 Seasons

In 2025, the Kentucky Wildcats went 31-26 overall. They were also 13-17 in SEC play.

They made the 2025 NCAA Tournament and were the three seed in the Clemson regional. During that regional, they played the West Virginia Mountaineers twice. They lost both games against them by one run in each contest. The final scores were 4-3 and 13-12.

Wake Forest finished 39-22 overall and 16-14 in ACC play during the 2025 college baseball season.

They made the 2025 NCAA Tournament and were the two seed in the Knoxville regional. Despite three wins against Cincinnati, Tennessee, and Miami (Ohio), they could not make a super regional.

West Virginia is facing two NCAA Tournament teams in fall exhibitions to prepare for the 2026 college baseball season.

Big 12 Regular Season Champions and a Historic Season in 2025

West Virginia had a highly successful 2025 season. The Mountaineers finished 44-16 overall and were 19-9 in Big 12 play.

They finished on top of the conference standings and won the Big 12 regular season championship for the second time in three seasons.

The 44 wins West Virginia had in 2025 is a program record for the most wins in a single season.

In the 2025 NCAA Tournament, the Mountaineers won the Clemson regional as the two seed. They advanced to the Baton Rouge super regional, where the LSU Tigers defeated them in two games.

LSU would go on to win the 2025 national championship at the College World Series.

It was also the second straight season that West Virginia made it to a super regional.
