Cardenales de Lara 4, Tigres de Aragua 1 – The Cardenales got a pair of runs in the first on a sac fly by Hernan Perez and a singly by Danry Vasquez and two more in the sixth when a pair of errors allowed Rangel Ravelo and Jermaine Palacios to score. The win made Lara 5-0 in the round robin, solidly in first place 1 1/2 games ahead of Zulia. The Tigres fell to 1-4 in the round robin.
Navegantes de Magallanes 5, Bravos de Margarita 1 – Renato Nunez hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the first and Carlos Nunez went 3-for-3 with three RBIs as Magallanes got their first win of the round robin. Tyler Alexander allowed one run on five hits over six innings of work for Magallanes, walking one and striking out six. Wilson Ramos’ solo shot in the sixth brought home Margarita’s only run. The Bravos are now 2-3 in the round robin.

Estrellas Orientales 6, Tigres del Licey 4 – Robinson Cano went 3-for-4 with three RBIs as his hometown Estrellas knocked off the defending champs to improve to 2-0 in the LIDOM round robin. Oscar Gonzalez hit a two-run homer as part of a three-run opening frame for the Estrellas. Sergio Alcantara and Johan Rojas each homered for Licey, which is 1-1.
Leones del Escogido 4, Aguilas Cibaenas 2 – Junior Caminero hit a solo homer in the first and Jean Segura followed with a double that scored Zoilo Almonte in the first. Aguilas Cibaenas catcher Christian Bethancourt’s passed ball in the fourth allowed Segura to score the go-ahead run, and another error by Bethancourt – this time on a throw following a wild pitch – allowed Pedro Severino to score in the sixth. The Leones improved to 1-1 while the Aguilas are now 0-2.
