The LSU Tigers saw three of their pitchers get drafted on the first night of the 2025 MLB Draft.

In 2025, LSU had a 3.73 team ERA that ranked seventh in the country. This played a huge role in the Tigers winning the 2025 national championship.

Kade Anderson Selected 3rd Overall by Seattle Mariners

The 2025 College World Series Most Outstanding Player and All-American pitcher was taken third overall by the Seattle Mariners.

Kade Anderson had a 3.18 ERA and 180 strikeouts in 2025. His record of 12-1 made him the ace LSU needed to help win the 2025 national championship.

He was both the second college player and second pitcher selected. Right before Seattle’s pick, the Los Angeles Angels selected UC Santa Barbara’s Tyler Bremner second overall.

Chase Shores Selected 47th Overall by Los Angeles Angels

Chase Shores was the next LSU pitcher to be selected. In 2025, he had 70 strikeouts in 63 2/3 innings of work. He made nine starts this season, but mostly came out of the bullpen this past season.

Shores was one of three college baseball pitchers the Angels picked. Along with him and Bremner, Los Angeles also selected Tennessee’s Nate Snead with the 105th overall pick.

Anthony Eyanson Selected 87th Overall by Boston Red Sox

Anthony Eyanson was a pivotal pitcher for LSU in 2025. Along with Anderson, he was a stalwart in head coach Jay Johnson’s national championship starting rotation.

Eyanson had a 3.00 ERA with 152 strikeouts in 108 innings of work. Much like Anderson, the Lakewood, California native had a great record of 12-2.

Eyanson was not the only SEC starting pitcher Boston picked. The Red Sox also picked up Tennessee’s Marcus Phillips and Oklahoma’s Kyson Witherspoon

The LSU Tigers are tied for the second-most draft picks by a team with four total thus far. The fourth LSU player that was drafted besides the pitchers was Ethan Frey. He was taken 95th overall by the Houston Astros.
