The matchups for the 2025-26 college football bowl games were announced. Three bowl games will be in Major League Baseball (MLB) ballparks in the month of December.
On Friday, December 26, the New Mexico Lobos will play the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the Rate Bowl, which takes place at Chase Field.
Chase Field is the MLB home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Chase Field has hosted the Rate Bowl since 2016 and also hosted it from 2000-2005. The bowl game used to be called the Cactus Bowl, the Guaranteed Rate Bowl, the Insight.com Bowl, and the Insight Bowl.
In this year’s matchup, New Mexico enters the game 9-3 on the season and finished second in the Mountain West. Minnesota is 7-5 this season and finished ninth in the Big Ten.
The kickoff between New Mexico and Minnesota is at 4:30 p.m. EST on December 26. The game will be on ESPN.
On Saturday, December 27, the Penn State Nittany Lions will play the Clemson Tigers in the Pinstripe Bowl, which takes place at Yankee Stadium.
Yankee Stadium is the MLB home of the New York Yankees. Yankee Stadium has hosted the Pinstripe Bowl annually since 2010.
In this year’s matchup, Penn State enters the game with a 6-6 record. They finished 13th in the Big Ten. Clemson has an overall record of 7-5 this season and finished eighth in the ACC.
Big Ten teams have dominated the Pinstripe Bowl with a 9-1 record. The ACC has won just one Pinstripe Bowl. That happened in 2015 when the Duke Blue Devils defeated the Indiana Hoosiers 44-41in overtime.
The kickoff for the year’s matchup between Penn State and Clemson is at noon EST on December 27. The game will be on ABC.
On Saturday, December 27, the UConn Huskies will play the Army Black Knights in the Fenway Bowl, which takes place at Fenway Park.
Fenway Park is the MLB home of the Boston Red Sox. Fenway Park has hosted the game annually since 2022.
UConn is playing in the Fenway Bowl for the second-straight season. Last season, they defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels 27-14 in the game.
In this year’s matchup, UConn enters this game with a 9-3 record. Army enters this game with a 6-5 record.
Before they play in the Fenway Bowl, the Black Knights will play Navy on December 13 in the historic Army-Navy rivalry game. That game will be at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
The kickoff for the game between UConn and Army is at 2:15 p.m. EST on December 27. The game will be on ESPN.
