Three Players that Stood Out in the Alabama Fall Exhibition Game Against Lipscomb

Last Friday, the Alabama Crimson Tide hosted the Lipscomb Bison at Sewell-Thomas Stadium in Tuscaloosa for an exhibition game.

Alabama defeated Lipscomb 13-2. In a press release from Alabama athletics, head coach Rob Vaughn talked about the way his team played.

It was a great night of baseball here in Tuscaloosa,” Vaughn said. “Our pitchers were outstanding. Through a 12-inning scrimmage, we punched 16 or 17 guys out and only put two on for free. We swung the bat extremely well. We hit a couple of homers, really controlled the strike zone, and had a couple of big two-out RBI knocks.”

World Baseball Network takes a look at three Crimson Tide players who stood out in Friday’s win over the Bison.

Freshman Right-Handed Pitcher Myles Upchurch

In two innings of work against Lipscomb, Myles Upchurch allowed no base runners and struck out five hitters.

The freshman right-handed pitcher is from Odenton, Md. According to Perfect Game, he was a top 65 player in the 2025 high school class and the second-best prospect from the state of Maryland.

He was also selected in the 19th round of the 2025 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds.

Junior Shortstop Justin Lebron

Justin Lebron got on base in three of his four at-bats in the exhibition against Lipscomb. He also had a two-run home run during the game.

Lebron is set to be one of the most highly anticipated players in college baseball in the country in 2026. In a mock draft done by MLB.com back in September, Lebron was projected to be a top-three pick.

In 2025, he was second-team All-SEC and named a second-team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

The shortstop is coming off a season where he had a .316 batting average, a .421 on-base percentage, hit 18 home runs, and had 72 RBI.

Junior Left-Handed Pitcher Zane Adams

Zane Adams started the ballgame on the mound for Alabama. In two innings of work, he had four strikeouts.

Last season, the left-hander had a 5.54 ERA in 65 innings of work. Over that same stretch, he also had 62 strikeouts.

With 27 starts in two seasons for the Crimson Tide, Adams will be an anchor in Alabama’s starting rotation during the 2026 season.

Up Next for Alabama

The Crimson Tide will hit the road for its next fall exhibition game. On October 25, they will be the Clemson Tigers at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

The first pitch for that exhibition game is scheduled for 1 p.m. EDT.
