Plenty of college baseball players are taking time during the summer to play in the Cape Cod League. Here are three players that have stood out thus far.
Jake McCoy, LHP, Harwich Mariners (South Carolina Gamecocks)
Jake McCoy has been a pitching machine for the Harwich Mariners. In 12 1/3 innings of work during Cape Cod League play, he has 25 strikeouts while allowing just two earned runs.
He currently has a 1.46 ERA for the Harwich Mariners. He was named the Cape Cod League Pitcher of the Week for June 14-20.
This past college baseball season, McCoy was a starter for the South Carolina Gamecocks. He had a 6.90 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 60 innings of work.
With a full year of starting pitching under his belt and great play in the Cape Cod League, McCoy could be poised for a big season with South Carolina in 2026.
South Carolina LHP Jake McCoy is in the midst of a major breakout on the Cape.

Levi Clark, C/DH, Wareham Gateman (Tennessee Volunteers)
Levi Clark has been one of the better hitters in the Cape Cod League this summer. With the Wareham Gateman, he has a .324 batting average, a .410 on-base percentage, and a .998 OPS.
Clark has shown serious power with two home runs already in the Cape Cod League. His 11 total hits have led to three RBI.
The Marietta, Ga. native is coming off a great freshman season with the Tennessee Volunteers. He had a .289 batting average, a .459 on-base percentage, 10 home runs, and 34 RBI.
He was named a freshman All-American by Perfect Game.
A great freshman season combined with a great summer in the 2025 Cape Cod League is a great recipe for success. Clark is on the trajectory for a sophomore breakout season for Tennessee in 2026.

Josiah Ragsdale, OF, Brewster Whitecaps (Boston College Eagles)
Josiah Ragsdale has arguably been the best player in the Cape Cod League. He was the Cape Cod League Player of the Week from June 14-20.
In the Cape Cod League, Ragsdale has a .400 batting average, a .512 on-base percentage, and a .998 OPS. He has 14 hits, which has led to seven RBI.
Ragsdale has also been a big threat on the base paths during the summer with 13 stolen bases in Cape Cod League play. He leads the league in stolen bases.
Ragsdale started in the Cape Cod vs. MLB Draft League All-Star Game on Jul. 30, as the MLB Draft League team won 10-6.
At Boston College in 2025, Ragsdale was a solid hitter with a .319 batting average, five home runs, and 30 RBI. He also had an on-base percentage of .418 with 33 walks.
The base-stealing factor in his game was also present while playing for the Eagles this past season. He had 30 stolen bases this year.
Ragsdale is coming off a season being the leader of Boston College’s offense. That kind of season, combined with a top tier performance in the Cape Cod League, can lead to special things for the outfielder next season playing with Boston College.
