Top College Baseball Matchups to Watch This Weekend

Here are the best college baseball matchups to watch this weekend, Feb. 21-23.  

  1. Karbach Round Rock Classic – Round Rock, Texas – Dell Diamond

This multi-team event features very good teams colliding for matchups in Round Rock, Texas, at Dell Diamond. The ballpark normally hosts the Round Rock Express, the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers.  

Here is the schedule for the 2025 Karbach Round Rock Classic.

Feb. 21 

Oklahoma v. Minnesota – 2 p.m.  

Oregon State v. Virginia – 6 p.m.  

Feb. 22 

Minnesota v. Virginia – noon.  

Oklahoma v. Oregon State – 4 p.m.  

Feb. 23 

Minnesota v. Oregon State – noon.  

Virginia v. Oklahoma – 4 p.m.  

The Virginia Cavaliers and Oregon State Beavers are two well-regarded college baseball programs that currently sit as the consensus top ten teams. That matchup on the first day, Feb. 21, will be a good way to kick off the action in Round Rock.  

Oklahoma will also provide a unique challenge coming from the SEC. They are currently 3-0 after sweeping Lehigh on opening weekend. During those three games, they outscored the Mountain Hawks 36-7. 

The Sooners will also get added rest as their mid-week game against UT-Arlington has been postponed.  

  1. Jax College Baseball Classic – Jacksonville, Fla. – 121 Financial Ballpark

Another big multi-team event will be taking place in Jacksonville, Fla., at 121 Financial Ballpark. This is normally the home of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins.  

Here is the schedule for the 2025 Jax College Baseball Classic.

Feb. 21 

Ohio State v. N.C. State – 2 p.m.  

Alabama v. Coastal Carolina – 6 p.m.  

Feb. 22  

Coastal Carolina v. Ohio State – noon.  

N.C. State v. Alabama – 4 p.m.  

Feb. 23 

Ohio State v. Alabama – 11 a.m.  

N.C. State v. Coastal Carolina – 2:30 p.m.  

Despite a tough mid-week loss to the College of Charleston Cougars, Coastal Carolina took care of business on opening weekend against St. Joseph’s, Washington, and Kansas State. They sit with a 4-1 record heading into Jacksonville.  

The Alabama Crimson Tide have also had a great start to the season, with a 4-0 record. They swept Bradley in three games on opening weekend and just beat Middle Tennessee in a mid-week matchup.  

N.C. State is a College World Series team from a season ago. Despite a tough loss to Liberty on Tuesday, they scored 42 runs during their opening weekend sweep of Fordham.  

The Ohio State Buckeyes will look for their first win of the season in Jacksonville after they were swept by Arizona State on opening weekend.   

  1. Amegy Bank College Baseball Series – Arlington, Texas – Globe Life Field

Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers, will host another multi-team event this weekend.  

Here is the schedule for the 2025 Amegy Bank College Baseball Series.

Feb. 21 

TCU v. Michigan – 3 p.m.  

Kansas State v. Arkansas – 7 p.m.   

Feb. 22  

Michigan v. Kansas State – 2 p.m.  

Arkansas v. TCU – 6 p.m.   

Feb. 23 

Michigan v. Arkansas – 11 a.m.  

Kansas State v. TCU – 3 p.m.   

Arkansas is coming off a four-game series sweep of the Washington State Cougars in Fayetteville on opening weekend. With fans that travel well, they will be the hot ticket in Arlington this weekend.  

Michigan is 4-0 after a great set of games in the Puerto Rico Challenge, including a win over a top-five Virginia team.  

The TCU Horned Frogs were in San Deigo, Calif., on opening weekend playing against the Toreros. Much like Arkansas, they completed a four-game sweep and also sit at 4-0 this season.
