With the collegiate school year underway, some of the high school prospects in the class of 2025 have officially made it to campus. According to Perfect Game, Tennessee, Texas, and Arkansas have the best three 2025 high school recruiting classes.
The Tennessee Volunteers have the number one high school class in the 2025 cycle.
Despite having players like Billy Carlson and Kruz Schoolcraft take the professional route, head coach Tony Vitello still brought in a haul for the 2026 college baseball season.
The headlining names to know that are on campus include Cameron Appenzeller, Trent Grindlinger, and Ethan Moore.
Appenzeller was selected in the 19th round of the 2025 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners. He chose to go to Knoxville for a collegiate career with Tennessee instead.
The Illinois-native is a top 25 player in the 2025 class and a top three left-handed pitcher in the class as well.
Grindlinger is a highly talented prospect from Huntington Beach, Calif. He is a top 30 player in the 2025 class and the second-best catcher in the class as well.
Moore was selected in the 18th round of the 2025 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds. Much like Appenzeller, he also chose to play in college for the Tennessee Volunteers instead.
The shortstop prospect is a top 100 player in the 2025 class. He is also a top five player in this recent recruiting cycle from the state of Illinois.
The Texas Longhorns have the second-best high school recruiting class in the 2025 cycle.
Much like Tennessee, Texas also had big high school commits take the professional route instead, like Kayson Cunningham and Gavin Fien.
However, head coach Jim Schlossnagle still brought some big high school talent to Austin. The headlining names to know are Anthony Pack Jr., Sam Cozart, and Brett Crossland.
Pack Jr. is a top 40 player in the 2025 class from Lakewood, Calif. He is also a top ten high school prospect from California and a top five outfielder in the 2025 cycle.
Cozart is a top 50 player in the 2025 class from High Point, N.C. He is a top ten right-handed pitcher in the class as well.
Crossland was one of the highly anticipated right-handed pitching recruits out of Arizona. He is the second-best righty from the state in the 2025 class and is a top 75 player in the class overall.
Arkansas comes in with the third-best recruiting class in the 2025 cycle.
The headlining freshmen for the Razorbacks that are on campus for the 2026 college baseball season include Landon Schaefer, Carson Brumbaugh, and Jordan Martin.
Schaefer was selected in the 20th round of the 2025 MLB Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. Instead, the Fayetteville-native is staying home and playing for the Razorbacks this upcoming season.
The shortstop is the number one player from the state of Arkansas and a top 75 player in the 2025 class.
Brumbaugh is a top-tier talent from Edmond, Okla. He is the third-best player in the 2025 class from the state of Oklahoma. The shortstop is also a top 100 player from this past recruiting cycle.
Martin is a towering right-handed pitching prospect from Jefferson City, Mo. He was the number one righty from the state of Missouri in this past recruiting cycle. He is also a top 75 player in the 2025 class nationally.
Martin has formidable size for a pitcher at six feet and six inches tall.
