On Friday, the University of Nevada-Las Vegas Rebels defeated the Fresno State Bulldogs 9-0 with the Rebels’ pitching staff for UNLV threw a combined no-hitter.
This is the first no-hitter in the Rebels’ program since the 2003 season.
UNLV had just two pitchers appear in this historic win over Fresno State. The starter, Carson Lane, went eight innings and struck out nine of the hitters in the Bulldogs’ lineup.
He earned the win bringing his record to 2-2 in the 2025 college baseball season. His other win this season came against Saint Mary’s back on March 7.
Will Marquart came in for the ninth inning and relieved Lane to finish out the contest. In his one inning of work, he struck out one batter.
UNLV’s offense looked confident from the way Lane and Marquart were pitching in the combined no-hitter. The Rebels tallied 16 hits during the game.
Center fielder Gunnar Myro and right fielder Dean Toigo had four hits each. One of Toigo’s four hits was a home run. Catcher Chase Gallegos and third baseman Cooper Sheff had three hits each.
The win in this historic game against Fresno State was the Rebels’ 12th victory this season. It was also their first one in Mountain West play.
UNLV will be back in action at home in Earl E. Wilson Stadium in Las Vegas as they look to win the series against Fresno State on Saturday. The first pitch for that matchup is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. EST.
