USC’s Mason Edwards is a College Baseball Pitcher to Watch in 2026

Heading into the 2026 college baseball season, Mason Edwards will be a pitcher to watch. The USC Trojans left-hander is a top 90 2026 MLB Draft prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.

Edwards and his Big Sophomore Season for USC

In 2025, Edwards pitched 32 2/3 total innings. He made 12 appearances, and five of those appearances were starts. The USC southpaw missed a whole month of the season due to an injury.

Edwards had a 3.86 ERA and 46 strikeouts. He also allowed an opposing batting average of just .204. He picked up three wins last season against George Washington, Michigan State, and Saint Mary’s.

The win Edwards picked up over Saint Mary’s was in the 2025 NCAA Tournament during the Corvallis regional.

The left-hander also picked up two saves in relief during the 2025 season against Michigan and Nebraska.

Edwards’ best performance last season came against the Washington Huskies on the road in Seattle. He had a season-high seven strikeouts and allowed just one walk in five innings of work. He also allowed no runs over that stretch in what was a 10-4 win for the Trojans.

In 2026, Edwards looks to be a part of USC’s weekend starting rotation. He showed some quality starts in 2025 with a 3-0 record and can be the headlining name to know on the Trojans’ pitching staff.

Up Next for the USC Trojans

The USC Trojans will begin the 2026 season on February 13 against the Pepperdine Waves. The game will be at USC’s home ballpark, Dedeaux Field, in Los Angeles.
