UTSA Roadrunners off to a Hot Start to Begin the 2026 College Baseball Season

The UTSA Roadrunners have a 10-1 overall record this season. They jumped into D1 Baseball’s top 25 rankings as the 25th-best team in college baseball.

World Baseball Network takes a look at UTSA’s hot start to the 2026 college baseball season.

Three Wins in the Bruce Bolt College Classic in Houston, electric UTSA offense

UTSA won all three games they played in the 2026 Bruce Bolt College Classic at Daikin Park in Houston.

After a close 6-5 win over Ohio State, the Roadrunners’ offense came alive against their next two opponents, Coastal Carolina and Baylor. In those two games, they put up a combined 27 runs.

The double figures in runs during games this season have been a common theme for UTSA.

The Roadrunners have scored 10 or more runs in eight of their 11 games this season. They are averaging around 10.5 runs per game this season.

The most runs UTSA has scored in a game came on opening day, which was Friday, February 13. They scored 17 runs in a win over the South Dakota State Jackrabbits.

Roadrunners are building upon a great 2025 season

The 10-1 start to 2026 is a response to a great 2025 season for UTSA. The Roadrunners finished the 2025 season 47-15 overall.

They also had a 23-4 record in American Athletic Conference (AAC) play. This led to them winning the AAC regular-season tournament title, and they made the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013.

In the NCAA Tournament, UTSA won the Austin Regional and made it to their first-ever super regional against UCLA in Los Angeles. It capped off a historic season for head coach Pat Hallmark’s team.

Up next for UTSA

The UTSA Roadrunners will play their next game against the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders on Tuesday, March 3.

The game is on the road at Chapman Field in Corpus Christi, and the first pitch is at 7 p.m. EST.
