On Tuesday, the Vanderbilt Commodores got big news with a commitment from a player in the transfer portal. Max Jensen, an infielder currently playing for Cornell, announced his commitment to play at Vanderbilt next year on his X account

Jensen is a senior who will play his grad year season with the Commodores in Nashville. He was first team All-Ivy League in his junior season in 2024 and has picked up with a great season in 2025.

This year, the infielder has a .284 batting average with 15 RBI. He also has an on-base percentage of .430.

It is important to note that Jensen’s final season at Cornell was cut short by injury. The last game he played was back on March 29 against Brown.

The best games of this season for Jensen came against Yale, Winthrop, and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). He had three hits in each of those games. In the three-hit game against UMBC, two of those three hits were for home runs.

Head coach Tim Corbin and the Vanderbilt Commodores are getting an on-base machine in Jensen. His career on-base percentage over four seasons at Cornell is .410, making him a catalyst for the offense.

Jensen is the second Ivy League transfer Vanderbilt has landed. Jacob Faulkner, a right-handed sidearm pitcher from Princeton, also committed to play for the Commodores.

Corbin is hitting the transfer portal early to help Vanderbilt prepare ahead for the 2026 college baseball season.
